What the Research Reveals: The Premier League Club with the Most Nationalistic Supporters; a Survey of Top-Tier Fans’ Club vs. Country Sentiments Ahead of the Upcoming 2024 Euros

The Premier League club with the most fervent supporters of their national team has been unveiled.

With Euro 2024 approaching, fans were presented with the age-old dilemma: club or country? They were asked to choose between witnessing their club lift the Premier League trophy or seeing England triumph in Germany.

As revealed by Betfair, the majority of fans surveyed, 63%, opted for club glory, while 37% favored England’s victory. This preference for club success comes despite England’s heartbreaking loss to Italy in the Euro 2020 final, where they fell short in a penalty shootout.

Gareth Southgate and his squad will be eager to go one step further this summer. England’s group stage fixtures include matches against Serbia, Denmark, and Slovenia.

The Premier League club with the most patriotic supporters has been unveiled.

The research revealed that Chelsea supporters are the most patriotic, with 60% favoring England’s Euro 2024 victory over a Premier League win for the Blues. In contrast, Liverpool fans were deemed the least patriotic, with only 32% prioritizing England’s success over their club’s.

Brighton fans ranked second in terms of patriotism, followed by supporters of Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham. Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Arsenal fans also demonstrated notable patriotic sentiments.

Aside from Liverpool, the clubs with the least patriotic fans included Newcastle, Everton, and West Ham, where supporters prioritized club success over England’s triumph.

Interestingly, when asked to predict the Euro 2024 winners, most England fans tipped France to lift the trophy instead of Southgate’s team. According to Betfair’s research, 29% of England fans surveyed believe France will emerge victorious.
