Breaking News: Al-Ittihad Reach Verbal Agreement with Aston Villa for Moussa Diaby
Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby is set to make a shocking move to Al-Ittihad after the two clubs agreed on a £50m deal, including add-ons. The winger has agreed to a five-year contract with the Saudi Arabian side, just one year after joining the Premier League outfit.
According to reports, the deal is close to being finalized, with Diaby expected to leave Villa Park in the coming days. This move marks a significant coup for Al-Ittihad, who have been actively seeking to bolster their squad with top talent.
In addition to Diaby, Al-Ittihad have also set their sights on Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. The Saudi Arabian club has already made an offer of £25m, which was rejected by City, who value the Brazilian shot-stopper at around £50m.
Diaby, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen last year for a club-record fee of £51.9m. The French winger made 54 appearances for Villa across all competitions, scoring ten goals and providing nine assists.
Al-Ittihad have been busy in the transfer market, having already signed Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Fabinho. They have also been linked with a move for Kevin De Bruyne, although it is expected that the Belgian midfielder will remain with Manchester City.
The Saudi Arabian club recently appointed former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc as their new manager, who will be tasked with guiding the team to success in the upcoming season.
