George Clooney has launched a scathing attack on David O. Russell, calling the filmmaker “a miserable f***” in a joint interview with his Wolfs co-star Brad Pitt.
Clooney, 63, reflected on his experience working with Russell on the 1999 war film Three Kings, citing the director’s behavior as a major contributor to the project’s difficulties. “Five months out of your life is a lot,” Clooney said. “And so it’s not just like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go do a really good film, like Three Kings, and I’m going to have a miserable f*** like David O. Russell making my life hell. Making every person in the crew’s life hell.”

Clooney has spoken publicly about the tensions on set, including a physical altercation between him and Russell. In a 2000 interview, Clooney described the experience as “truly, without exception, the worst experience of my life.”

Russell has also clashed with other Hollywood stars, including Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams. In 2015, Lawrence was allegedly spotted arguing with Russell on the set of their film Joy. Christian Bale, who worked with Russell on American Hustle, claimed to have stepped in as a “mediator” between Adams and Russell on the contentious set.
