Her partner, Dan Gilroy, confirmed the sad news to The Hollywood Reporter that same day, expressing his grief over the loss of his “dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend.”
Gilroy poignantly added, “Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley.” Duvall captivated audiences with her memorable performances, including her iconic role as Wendy Torrance in the 1980 horror classic The Shining. Dr. Ruth Westheimer

Dr. Ruth, as she was affectionately known, pioneered the field of sex therapy and advice. She began her career with a weekly radio show in 1980 called Sexually Speaking, and went on to host a variety of talk shows and publish over 40 books, including the popular Sex for Dummies in 1995. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was surrounded by her loved ones, as well as her dog, Bowie.”
Doherty, best known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, had been diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in 2015. Sloane’s statement concluded with a request for privacy: “The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
Jacoby Jones
On Sunday, July 14, it was announced that Super Bowl champion and former NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones had passed away at his Houston home at the young age of 40. The cause of death has not been made public as of yet.
Jones was a beloved figure in the NFL, having played for both the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.
