Football star Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance during his girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour concert in London, a hint of which he had given back in April.
The 34-year-old athlete joined Swift onstage during her performance at Wembley Stadium on June 23, specifically during the Tortured Poets Department section of the show.
Back in April, when asked by Entertainment Tonight about which Eras Tour dates he was most excited for, Kelce had expressed his enthusiasm for the London shows, mentioning Swift’s impressive eight-night run at Wembley.
Swift’s performance on Sunday marked her third consecutive night selling out the iconic venue, with five more dates scheduled for August.
When previously asked about his plans to attend any of Swift’s European tour dates, Kelce had hinted at his possible involvement, stating, “Oh, you know I gotta go support.”
And support he did. Kelce, dressed in a tuxedo and top hat, matched the backup dancers, Kam Saunders and Jan Ravnik, as he appeared onstage during the transition from “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
He playfully carried Swift to the end of the stage after she pretended to throw a tantrum, and even helped fan her face to bring her “back to life.”
The Wembley crowd went wild at the sight of Kelce, and his cameo was equally celebrated by Swift’s backup dancers.
Dancer Natalie Peterson shared a video from the show on Instagram Stories, tagging Kelce and expressing her excitement.
Another dancer, Sam McWilliams, shared a series of memes on Instagram Stories, including a Betches tweet that read, “These two REALLY match each other’s freak,” alongside a picture of Swift being carried by Kelce.
Even Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, showed her support by reposting a video of her son’s Eras Tour debut on Facebook, shared by a Swift fan account.
The Eras Tour now moves on to Dublin, with three sold-out shows at Aviva Stadium starting on Friday, June 28.
