Meghan McCain shared some less-than-stellar memories of Jennifer Lopez during one of the singer’s visits to The View. In a recent episode of her “Citizen McCain” podcast, McCain described Lopez’s massive entourage and less-than-pleasant demeanor during her appearance on the show.
McCain, who co-hosted The View from 2017 to 2021, recalled, “She had the biggest entourage I’ve ever seen. More than Kim Kardashian and the president. I just don’t understand why it was needed.” She added, “I was a host, and she was not nice. You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising that someone like Kim Kardashian could be more delightful. When you’re on a show for a 10-minute segment… just fake it till you make it for 10 minutes.”
Daytime TV is often full of surprises, and Meghan McCain has certainly had her fair share of memorable moments on The View. After a three-month hiatus following the birth of her first child, McCain returned to the show in January 2021. During her time as a co-host, McCain’s strong opinions and passionate debates with her fellow panelists kept viewers engaged.
In contrast to McCain’s experience, McCain’s guest, reality TV producer Carlos King, shared a positive encounter with Lopez. King recalled meeting J.Lo in 2001 and described her as charming and down-to-earth, with a much smaller entourage. He also praised her work ethic, recalling her energetic performance in Las Vegas, where she danced non-stop for 90 minutes straight.
Amid rumors of trouble in her marriage to Ben Affleck and the cancellation of her tour, Lopez recently encouraged her fans to focus on the love and positivity in her life. In a newsletter, she wrote, “It may seem like there’s a lot of negativity out there… but don’t let the voices of a few drown out the love.”
McCain often reflects on her time at The View, and her name still comes up in discussions about the show. She recently quipped on X about a brief reference to her opposition to former White House Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci, saying, “These women will never quit me.”
McCain has also shared that she expects to be “bullied” for the rest of her life by “crazy old people” because of her time on The View. Despite moving on from the show, she continues to be associated with it and finds herself defending her opinions and actions from her time as a co-host.
