Reality TV personality Bar Smith has found himself on the wrong side of the law, facing a slew of charges in Nevada.
According to legal documents, the TV personality was arrested on Sunday, July 7, and now faces two serious felony charges: second-degree kidnapping and coercion with the threat of domestic violence, as well as physical force. He also stands accused of a misdemeanor harassment charge.
On Monday, July 8, Smith, 27, appeared via video link for a hearing where a public defender was appointed to represent him. His bail was set at a substantial $35,000, and he was remanded back into custody.
Efforts have been made to contact Smith’s team for their comments on the arrest, but so far, there has been no response. The identity of the alleged victim and the reason for Smith’s presence in Nevada remain unknown.
It’s been a tumultuous journey for the cast of this reality show. The series, which first aired in December 2009, was the inaugural spinoff from the original show. The debut season followed four young women—Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, Amber Portwood, and Farrah Abraham—as they navigated the challenges of teen pregnancy and motherhood, each with their unique experiences. Over the years, the show has continued to capture the cast’s evolving lives, relationships, and struggles, offering a raw and emotional glimpse into their world.
Reality TV fans are aware that Smith’s estranged wife, Ashley Siren, resides near Las Vegas. The former couple, who share a 5-year-old daughter named Holly, appeared to have parted ways in 2023 after Smith posted and subsequently deleted a breakup announcement on social media.
“Ashley and I have had some incredible times and shared many valuable lessons. I’m grateful for everything we’ve been through together,” Smith wrote on Instagram in May 2023. “However, we’ve encountered unforeseen challenges, and sometimes people grow apart. There’s no blame to be placed; we mutually agreed to part ways and continue our lives separately. I will always be there for her when needed, and I know she’ll do the same for me. But for now, our paths diverge.”
In a new season of Reality Show: The Next Chapter, which premiered a year later, Siren, 27, revealed that Smith was residing in California. This was due to a separate legal case for which he had been sentenced to 24 months of probation, restricting his ability to travel to Nevada.
During this season, Siren also leveled accusations of infidelity against Smith, claiming that she had discovered evidence of an emotional or physical relationship he had been conducting behind her back for several months.
“I checked the phone records, and I believe there was something going on,” she said in a May episode. “Whether it was emotional or physical, I think there was some kind of relationship happening for multiple months without my knowledge.”
Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, Siren has emphasized that their daughter will always be their top priority. “No matter what happens between your dad and me, whether he’s here or not, we both love you and you are the most important thing,” she assured her daughter in a heartfelt moment on the show.
Reality Show: The Next Chapter continues to air on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET, giving viewers an inside look at the cast’s ever-evolving lives.
