Taylor Swift is beaming with gratitude towards her devoted fan base, Swifties, for propelling her eleventh album, The Tortured Poets Department, to unprecedented heights.
Following the news that her latest record secured its 12th consecutive week at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, the 34-year-old pop sensation confessed she was “completely blown away” by the feat.
After wrapping up three sold-out shows at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Swift applauded her fans for their unwavering support, which has kept her album at number one since its release on April 19.
“I am completely blown away by what you’ve done – it stayed at #1 for the first 12 weeks of its release and that’s never happened to an album of mine before, not even close!!” she exclaimed on Instagram. “You’re just the greatest.”

The Grammy winner also gave a special shoutout to the three Gelsenkirchen crowds, describing them as “amazing” and “thoughtful” in her latest post.
During her performances, fans showcased their creativity by crafting their own “Willow orbs” using balloons and phone flashlights, replicating the props used by Swift and her dancers on stage.
The fan project, which Swift acknowledged ahead of her acoustic set, saw hundreds of attendees from every section of the arena holding up their makeshift orbs, creating a stunning visual effect.
Swift’s in-house marketing team, Taylor Nation, shared footage of the fan project on social media, highlighting the growing number of orbs each night.
According to reports, the number of orbs increased with each of the three concert nights in Gelsenkirchen.
Swift expressed her gratitude towards her fans, saying, “There have been people bringing balloons to the Eras Tour to make their own orbs for Willow. I was cracking up the whole time. You guys are so thoughtful.”

The Tortured Poets Department marks Swift’s first record to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart for 12 consecutive weeks, surpassing her previous records 1989 and Fearless, which each debuted with 11 weeks in the top spot.
Swift’s new record has also broken a record held by the late Whitney Houston, whose second album Whitney was previously the longest-running record from a female artist to debut in the top spot in 1987 and spend 11 weeks there.

The album joins an elite group of records that have spent a minimum of 12 weeks in the top spot on the chart, including country singer Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time and Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life.
