Taylor Swift’s Hidden Hits: The Surprising Omissions from Her Eras Tour Setlist

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been a musical spectacle, with the pop star performing two surprise acoustic songs at every show. With the help of an acoustic guitar and an upright piano adorned with flowers, Swift treats her audience to songs that aren’t part of the main setlist. Initially, she vowed not to repeat any surprise songs unless she made a mistake, but she later amended her rule to allow for more creative freedom.
Swift has played certain songs multiple times during the acoustic sets, while others haven’t made the cut yet. With only five months left until the Eras Tour wraps up, it’s possible that some tunes will never get their moment in the spotlight. Swifties have been lucky enough to hear some of these rare tracks, but others remain elusive.

Excluding songs that aren’t featured on any of Swift’s albums, there are 17 remaining tracks that haven’t been played on the Eras Tour. With over 30 shows left, Swift still has time to play them all if she wants to, especially since she’s been doing more song mashups recently.

Some songs, however, are likely to be skipped altogether. For instance, “Soon You’ll Get Better,” which Swift wrote about her parents’ cancer diagnoses, and “Ronan,” which is about a 3-year-old boy who died from neuroblastoma in 2011, might be too difficult to perform live.

Swift has made a habit of playing songs about places in the appropriate concert venues. In May, she played “Paris” in the French city of the same name and one year prior she played “Welcome to New York” at MetLife Stadium (which is technically in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but close enough). Therefore, it’s possible that Swift will sing “Florida!!! (feat. Florence and the Machine)” when she returns to Miami in October.
As of July 2024, Swift has performed all of her songs from her self-titled debut record, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Folklore, and Midnights.
