**Aaron Rodgers Fires Back at Critics with Perfect T-Shirt After Jets Absence Drama**
Aaron Rodgers has responded to his critics in the best way possible, donning a perfect t-shirt to Jets training camp after the controversy surrounding his “unexcused” absences from minicamp.
Last month, Rodgers missed both days of the team minicamp for a personal trip, which he later confirmed was to Egypt. The quarterback’s decision sparked debate, with coach Robert Saleh labeling his absence as “unexcused.”
However, Rodgers made a bold statement on Tuesday, showing up to Jets training camp wearing a t-shirt featuring an Egyptian cat. The Jets captured a photo of their quarterback approaching the team facility with a smirk on his face.

Rodgers described his trip to Egypt as “beautiful,” but it initially ruffled some feathers after coach Robert Saleh said his absence was “unexcused.”

Rodgers later explained on Barstool’s ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast that the minicamp is structured similarly to OTAs, and he complained about how a “deceiving” narrative was spread after his absences.
“This is the ‘minicamp week,’ which makes it more mandatory than other weeks, but it’s an OTAs schedule,” he began. “That’s how words can be a little deceiving. They can make a story about how I missed minicamp when it was really two OTA days. I came to the first 10.”
Rodgers skipped the team’s mandatory minicamp in June, a move that sparked controversy
At a different point on ‘Pardon My Take,’ the 40-year-old passer was asked about when he may retire. He said, “I don’t know, I’m not sure. This one for sure. I wanted to do two good ones to give us a chance to retire a Jet and win two Super Bowls.”
Rodgers and the Jets open their season at the 49ers on September 9.

Rodgers missed essentially all of last season after suffering an Achilles tear in Week 1, and had a down year (by his standards) in 2022 with Green Bay.
That year, the quarterback threw 12 interceptions – his most since his first year as a starter in 2008 – as the Packers went just 8-9 and missed the playoffs.
