Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign 18-year-old winger Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC. The South Korean starlet, who has been dubbed the “next Son Heung-min,” is expected to join Spurs in January pending his medical in South Korea.
Yang has been impressing in the K League this season, winning the Young Player of the Month award in April, May, and June. He has started all 24 of Gangwon’s league games, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

Yang is set to become the third Korean player in Tottenham’s history, following in the footsteps of Lee Young-pyo and Son Heung-min. Son, who has scored 162 goals in 408 games since joining Spurs in 2015, is Tottenham’s most famous Korean player to date.
Like Son, Yang’s natural position is as a wide attacking player, but he has the versatility to play in different positions. Yang’s impending arrival at Tottenham has generated excitement among fans, who are eager to see him in action.
Before joining Tottenham, Yang will play against Spurs in an exhibition game on Wednesday as part of the K League XI. The game will be a great opportunity for Tottenham fans to get a glimpse of their new signing in action.

The current K League campaign will end on November 24, and Gangwon FC are currently placed fourth, just three points behind leaders Pohang Steelers. Yang’s impending departure from Gangwon FC is a significant loss for the club, but it’s a great opportunity for him to shine in the Premier League.
