Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield are the picture of love and support, both on and off the track.
As athletes representing opposing countries in the Olympic Games, they understand the importance of mental preparation and having a strong support system. In an exclusive interview, Lyles shared how his girlfriend’s presence has become a crucial aspect of his training and competition.
“My girlfriend’s on [a] team as well, so we are training together and we’re competing most of the same day,” Lyles said. “We have that mental space to be able to share with each other and continuously feed to each other.”
Lyles, a sprinter for Team USA, and Bromfield, a track and field athlete for Jamaica, have been together since 2022. Despite their demanding schedules, they prioritize their relationship and make time for each other.
To maintain a sense of normalcy, Lyles has set boundaries, like not taking pictures while eating or when he’s with Bromfield. “I’m learning on the fly. I already have my set rules… Other than that, everything is pretty free game, you know, I don’t have a problem with that,” he explained.

Like many modern couples, Lyles and Bromfield connected via social media. Bromfield confessed on the “Fast Lane Lifestyle” podcast that she slid into Lyles’ DMs, and they started “chit-chatting” for a few months.
As they got to know each other, romantic feelings began to surface. However, they decided to keep their bond platonic, as they were both focused on their training.

Lyles and Bromfield crossed paths again at the Tokyo Olympics, where she won bronze in the mixed 4×400 meter relay. At the time, they were both dating other people.

February 2022
One year later, Lyles broke up with his then-girlfriend and slid back into Bromfield’s DMs. They went on their next date in February after learning she was also recently single. Lyles and Bromfield made their Instagram debut the following August.
August 2023
Lyles gushed about Bromfield on Instagram, calling her his “best friend and Goofy fun buddy.” Bromfield eventually relocated to Lyles’ home base, where they now train side-by-side.

July 2024
Lyles and Bromfield both traveled to Paris to represent their respective countries in the 2024 Games. In between meets, they uploaded multiple joint social media videos around the Olympic village.
