On Saturday, a heartwarming yet unfortunate incident involving NFL star Travis Kelce and a female fan occurred at the 35th Annual American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe. Kelce, a talented tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, had a series of wayward shots during the tournament, with one of his golf balls unfortunately striking a young female fan in the head.
The incident, which left the fan bloodied, was captured on video and showed Kelce’s compassionate response. As the fan received medical attention, Kelce could be seen comforting her and ensuring her well-being. The three-time Super Bowl winner even suggested that the crowd move away to prevent any further accidents.

The fan, who was hit in the back of the head, displayed streaks of blood in her blonde hair, according to an eyewitness. Thankfully, she was able to stand on her own after a few minutes and was promptly transported off the course by staff. Play quickly resumed, but the incident left an impact on those present.
Interestingly, Kelce had offered some lighthearted advice to his brother, Jason, who was also participating in the tournament. On a recent podcast episode, Travis jokingly stated, “My advice would be don’t feel bad if you hit somebody because they bought the ticket.” Little did he know that his words would take on a different meaning during the tournament.

Despite the unfortunate incident, Kelce ended his first round tied for 62nd place, a notable departure from his tournament win in 2023. The Chiefs star’s performance, however, was not without its challenges, as he embodied his own advice to his brother early in the tournament.
In addition to the female fan, Kelce’s tee shot on the first hole also went into the crowd, hitting a man in the arm. A video posted online showed Kelce’s apologetic gesture, as he shook the man’s hand and leaned in to kiss his arm, much to the delight and cheers of the crowd at Edgewood.

While his performance on the course may not have been his best, his response to the unfortunate incidents showcased his character and empathy for his fans.
