Soleil Moon Frye paid a touching tribute to her ex-boyfriend, Shifty Shellshock, following his sudden passing at the age of 49. Frye, 47, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, accompanied by a series of intimate photos of the couple.
Frye and Shellshock, whose real name was Seth Binzer, had a history dating back to their middle school days. Their relationship made headlines in September 2021, but it was a connection built on a decades-long friendship. Frye, known for her role in Punky Brewster, was previously married to film producer Jason Goldberg, with whom she shares four children.
In her emotional post, Frye reminisced about their early days, recalling how Shellshock “kissed me in your tunnel of love and swept me away again as we grew up to show me what that timeless kind of love feels like.”
Frye’s message continued, expressing the depth of their bond: “No words could ever express the love we shared or how we are feeling right now. It is a language all its own.”
She went on to share her belief in a reunion with Shellshock, recalling a conversation they had: “‘To the people we have lost, we will see them again down the road, right?’ I believe we will, Seth.”
Frye concluded her tribute with a heartfelt promise: “I will instantly see your moon on fire cheek welcoming your family, friends, fans, and loved ones under loving double rainbow arches… I love you forever and always. Your Moonfire xx”
Crazy Town’s manager, Howie Hubberman, confirmed to Us Weekly that Shellshock’s death on June 24 was due to an accidental drug overdose. Hubberman shared that Binzer had struggled with addiction, and despite efforts from those around him, “ultimately we all failed, or Shifty would still be here.”
The statement from Hubberman shed light on Binzer’s struggles with addiction, particularly following the success of Crazy Town’s hit song “Butterfly.” It was a battle that, unfortunately, proved too difficult to overcome.
