Alex Rodriguez took to social media to share a cryptic message just hours after his ex-fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, filed for divorce from her husband, Ben Affleck.
The retired MLB star reposted a years-old quote on his Instagram Story, which read, “You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction.” The post sparked speculation about Rodriguez’s thoughts on Lopez’s divorce, but he didn’t provide any further explanation.
Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing April 26 as the date of separation. Rumors had been circulating about the status of her marriage to Affleck since May, with sources revealing that the pair had been living separate lives.

Lopez and Affleck, who were previously engaged between 2002 and 2004, reunited in May 2021 shortly after Lopez and Rodriguez called off their own engagement. Affleck proposed in April 2022, and they eloped in Las Vegas several months later. Rodriguez seemingly held no ill will toward Lopez as she quickly moved on.

Lopez and Rodriguez’s own romance was marked by ups and downs, but Rodriguez has seemingly moved on. He’s currently dating personal trainer Jaclyn Cordeiro, with whom he shares a strong connection.

Rodriguez has credited Cordeiro with helping him lose over 30 pounds and has praised her for her proactive approach to health and wellness.
“She’s used to taking care of people that are sick. What I love about what she’s done in [her program] JacFit and the amount of people that she’s influenced and the reaction that I see from people to her, it’s really mind-blowing. I see what she’s done in my life, with my health [and with] Cynthia to name a few. She comes at it from a very proactive [place] and helps you get in tremendous shape so you don’t have to hopefully be sick and prevent any type of health issues,” Rodriguez gushed.
It seems that Rodriguez has moved on from his past romance with Lopez and is focused on his new relationship and his health journey.
