Taylor Swift is vigilant about ensuring the safety and well-being of her fans, regardless of her location.
The Tortured Poets Department singer, 34, paused her performance of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” during her second concert at Milan’s San Siro Stadium on July 14 to request assistance from security for a fan in the audience.
In a brief interruption, she said, “Aiutare, per favore,” pointing to a specific area in the crowd. She then repeated the request in English, emphasizing, “We need assistance over there, please.”
Swift has demonstrated that she is unafraid to halt her grand Eras Tour production to address fan safety concerns. During her opening night in Edinburgh, Scotland, she resolutely refused to continue until a fan received the necessary assistance.
“I’m aware of her presence right there. I’m going to continue playing this song until someone helps her,” the Grammy Award winner asserted, strumming her guitar patiently. “Just let me know when it’s resolved. I’m in no rush.” After ensuring the fan was helped, Swift enthusiastically exclaimed, “Awesome!” before transitioning into her next song.
The following evening witnessed a similar scenario, as she paused her performance four times to enlist the aid of venue staff.
Swift’s Milan concerts encountered another minor hiccup when she had to interrupt the acoustic segment of her first show after accidentally swallowing a bug.
“I knew this would happen due to the abundance of bugs here tonight,” she shared with the audience. “Give me a moment while I cough it out.”
When the show proceeded as planned, the Reputation singer delighted fans with alterations to her Eras set and costumes. She debuted a new gown during the Speak Now segment, a black-and-gold dress for the Fearless portion, and updated lyrics on the white gown worn during the TTPD section, which now reads, “Who’s afraid of little old me? You should be.”
Meanwhile, Swift added to her accolades while performing in Italy, garnering three Kids’ Choice Awards. The “Karma” singer was recognized for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Global Music Star, and Favorite Ticket of the Year for the Eras Tour. Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, also received an award for Favorite Male Sports Star. Kelce was absent from the awards ceremony, as he was participating in the 2024 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Nevada.
