**Brighton in Talks with Celtic Over Matt O’Riley Transfer**
Brighton has initiated negotiations with Celtic to determine the asking price for midfielder Matt O’Riley. The 23-year-old Denmark international has already attracted bids from Atalanta and Southampton, which were rejected by the Scottish champions.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has emphasized that the club will not sell O’Riley on the cheap, with a package close to £25 million being the target. Atletico Madrid had an £18m offer rejected in January and have since agreed a deal with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher over a £34m move.

O’Riley has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Conor Gallagher. The midfielder played in Celtic’s 4-0 win over Kilmarnock as Rodgers’s side opened their defence of the Premiership title on Sunday.
A £1.5m signing from MK Dons, O’Riley has refused to rock the boat in search of a move, despite Rodgers warning clubs to ‘value the player, not the league.’ Rodgers said: ‘What’s important for me is, if a player does leave here, they pay the value for the player and that isn’t something that always happens.’

Rodgers added: ‘No player will leave here unless it’s for the right valuation and, at this moment in time, there’s been no team that’s been anywhere near that.’
