With the highly anticipated reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer set to hit theaters in July 2025, a familiar face from the original sequel is eager to make a comeback: Brandy.
The original 1997 film, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe, was a massive success, raking in $125 million worldwide on a mere $17 million budget.
Sony quickly capitalized on the success with the 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, which brought back Love Hewitt and Prinze Jr., alongside new additions Brandy and Mekhi Phifer. Although it didn’t quite match the original’s box office success, it still managed to take in $40 million.
Last year, Sony announced a reboot of the franchise, with both Love Hewitt and Prinze Jr. reprising their roles. Director Jenn Kaytin Robinson confirmed that the 1998 sequel is indeed canon, sparking a renewed interest in the original cast members.
