Snoop Dogg’s royal connections have been making headlines once again.
Following his memorable appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, an old radio interview with UK’s Capital FM has resurfaced, where the rapper shared his plans while in London.
“I’ll drop by the palace, see if they let me in,” Snoop casually mentioned, likely referring to Buckingham Palace.
When the host, Jordan North, brought up Prince William‘s admiration for Snoop, the rapper revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth was also a fan.
“Rest in peace to the Queen, that was my homegirl. You know what I’m saying? So, I might just want to go up and, you know, see what I can do,” Snoop said, showcasing his affection for the late monarch.
Snoop and Queen Elizabeth shared a “mutual love and respect,” which dates back to 1994 when the rapper was touring in the UK amid calls for him to be expelled from the country due to a murder charge.
At the time, the Queen made a comment that her grandbabies, including Prince William and Harry, loved Snoop Dogg, and she gave him permission to stay in the country.
“Those grandbabies grew up, and I had influence on them, and they had influence on their grandmother, which enabled me to get into this beautiful country,” Snoop explained in a previous interview.
In another interview, Snoop imagined the Queen telling Prince Harry, “You know Harry, I’ll let him in for you. He’s not so bad after all, and he’s quite cute.”
Although Snoop mentioned visiting Buckingham Palace, it appears he didn’t follow through on his plan, according to a spokesperson for King Charles.
Instead, Snoop has been enjoying his time in Paris, serving as a torchbearer, Team USA superfan, and a special correspondent for NBC Sports.
“I’ve been out here working the Olympics, talking to the athletes, to the families, and meeting the people and kissing the babies,” he said in an interview. “And doing the things that I do to politically stay correct, and just being Snoop Dogg. That’s what I know how to do the best.”
