Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Embark on Official Visit to Colombia
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have kicked off their official visit to Colombia, marking a significant milestone in their charitable endeavors. The royal couple was warmly received by Colombia’s Vice President and her partner at the vice president’s residence on August 15.
During their visit, Harry and Meghan engaged in a series of activities, including a roundtable discussion at a local charter school, Colegio Cultura Popular, where they listened to students’ experiences with social media and technology. The duchess emphasized the importance of being self-reliant and not tech-reliant, according to reports.
The couple also attended a cultural event at Centro Nacional de las Artes Delia Zapata Olivella, where they were treated to a theater performance, a musical presentation, and even participated in some dancing. They spent time with the performers and crew, showcasing their commitment to engaging with local communities.
This visit marks a crucial moment for the Archewell Foundation, founded by the duke and duchess, which focuses on promoting a safer online environment. The upcoming Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, to be held in Colombia this November, will unveil a comprehensive framework for creating safer physical and digital spaces.
Earlier this year, Harry and Meghan embarked on their first official tour of Nigeria, where they promoted their foundation’s mental health work and the Invictus Games. The couple has expressed their desire to venture abroad more in the future, stating that “there’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to traveling more because the work matters.”
The Colombia trip comes amid a significant year of transition for Harry and Meghan, with multiple Netflix series in the works, including a cooking show and a project about professional polo. Meghan is also preparing to launch her new lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard, while Harry has been celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship has been under the spotlight since they started dating in 2016. The pair announced their engagement in 2017 and tied the knot the following year at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, England. They went on to welcome their son, Archie, in 2019.
