Princess Kate Middleton: The Unifying Force Behind Prince William and King Charles III’s Relationship
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has played a pivotal role in repairing the relationship between her husband, Prince William, and his father, King Charles III. According to royal expert Robert Jobson, there were moments when the relationship between the king and the Prince of Wales was strained, but Kate’s efforts have helped to smooth things over.
“She’s been brilliant. I think the king absolutely adores her,” Jobson said in an interview. “You can see his eyes light up when he sees her.” Charles, 75, sees Kate as “the daughter he never had,” and her presence has helped to ease tensions between him and William.

In his book, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, Jobson writes that Kate has “smoothed the way to a more genial relationship” when tensions between William and Charles rose. She has learned to tread carefully and let time heal, navigating tricky situations with ease.

Kate is “always loyal” to William, but she is also “a pragmatic ally” for Charles. Jobson believes that Charles will soon appoint Kate as a member of his Privy Council, allowing her to attend the Accession Council when William becomes King.

Jobson believes that Kate’s appointment to the Privy Council will be a significant step forward for her role in the monarchy. “He gave her a promotion in the Royal Victoria Order, which is an ancient order that was basically thanking her for the work that she’s done,” he explained.
