Green, 50, who played David Silver in the iconic 90s show, shared an emotional message on Instagram Stories, expressing his grief over Doherty’s passing. He fondly recalled their special bond, stating, “You loved me through everything. You were a big part of my understanding of love.”
Green portrayed David Silver in 292 episodes of the beloved TV drama from 1990 to 2000, while Doherty brought Brenda Walsh to life in 111 episodes from 1990 to 1994. The two reunited in 2019 for the six-episode reboot BH90210, where they played fictionalized versions of themselves.

One fan expressed their grief over Doherty’s passing, referencing the late Luke Perry, another beloved 90210 star who died in 2019. “I cannot stop crying,” they wrote. “I know Shannen was back on chemo, but this is shocking! Now she is reunited with her Daddy & Luke.”
Green was among several Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members who paid tribute to Doherty following her long health battle. Jason Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh, Doherty’s brother on the show, shared his shock and sadness on Instagram, calling her “a force of nature.”
