Reds Reject Finds Himself on Turkish Team’s Chopping Block

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Future Uncertain as Besiktas Consider Offloading Him

Former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might be on the move again, with Turkish club Besiktas reportedly open to selling or loaning him out to a British club.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who turns 31 in August, has been with Besiktas since last summer, scoring four goals in 30 appearances in his debut season. Despite his decent form, the Turkish outfit may be willing to offload him to reduce their wage bill.

According to sources, Besiktas would be willing to let Oxlade-Chamberlain go on loan if a club is willing to cover most of his £70,000-a-week wages. This could be an attractive option for British clubs looking to bolster their midfield options.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s time at Besiktas has been marked by injuries and inconsistent form, which may have contributed to the club’s decision to consider offloading him. The Englishman’s career has been hampered by injuries in recent seasons, limiting his playing time and impact on the pitch.

Before joining Besiktas, Oxlade-Chamberlain had a successful stint with Liverpool, winning the Premier League and League Cup with the Reds. He made 146 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and providing 14 assists.

With former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst taking charge of Besiktas, the club may be looking to revamp their squad and reduce their wage bill. Oxlade-Chamberlain’s departure could be a part of this process, opening up opportunities for other players to step in.

Several British clubs have reportedly expressed interest in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain, who could bring experience and quality to their midfield. However, the final decision will depend on Besiktas’ willingness to negotiate and the player’s own desires.

As the transfer window heats up, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future remains uncertain. Will he stay with Besiktas, or will he make a return to the British football scene?
