Red-Hot Prospect’s United Dream Dashed After Medical Misfire

**Manchester United’s Goalkeeper Plans Foiled as Toby Savin Fails Two Medicals**

Manchester United’s search for a third-choice goalkeeper hit a roadblock when 23-year-old Toby Savin failed not one, but two medicals at Old Trafford. The Shrewsbury stopper was touted to join the Red Devils, but his dreams were shattered due to medical concerns.

United had been monitoring Savin’s progress for three years, along with Newcastle and Tottenham, and were keen to sign him as a free agent. However, the Englishman’s medical issues, which limited him to just nine appearances last season, proved to be a major stumbling block.

Savin initially failed a medical in January, and despite being given a second chance, he failed again this month. The goalkeeper had been playing for Accrington Stanley in League Two before making a move to Shrewsbury in June.

Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst expressed confidence in Savin’s abilities, stating, “Toby attracted interest from clubs higher up the leagues. He is a player with plenty of potential and has all the attributes to be a really good goalkeeper.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United has already made some significant signings this summer, including 18-year-old French defender Leny Yoro and Dutch international striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Erik ten Hag’s side has been busy in the transfer market, with the addition of Yoro and Zirkzee bolstering their squad. The Dutch manager will be hoping to strengthen his team further as the summer window progresses.

Yoro made his debut for Manchester United in a friendly against Rangers in Edinburgh, playing the first half alongside Jadon Sancho, who was returning to the team after a fallout with Ten Hag last term.
