Manchester United and Tottenham Face Off Against Rangers in Europa League

Manchester United and Tottenham have been drawn into the Europa League group stage, with both teams facing off against Scottish Premiership side Rangers. The Red Devils will also face Fenerbahce, managed by former United boss Jose Mourinho, in a highly anticipated reunion.

In addition to Rangers, Tottenham will take on Italian giants Roma and Galatasaray in the group stage. Rangers, meanwhile, will face off against the likes of Lyon, Olympiacos, and Nice.

United sporting director Dan Ashworth expressed his excitement about the new format, which sees all 36 teams in one league. “It adds something,” he said. “No one quite knows what that’s going to look like, but what seems to be good is that there is jeopardy in every game right until the end because it’s critical where you finish within that group.”

United will also face off against former manager Jose Mourinho, as they travel to play Fenerbahce

The top eight teams in the league will progress directly to the Round of 16, while teams placing ninth to 24th will compete in the knockout play-offs. Winners of those games will earn a spot in the Round of 16.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have also been drawn against Rangers, Roma, and Galatasaray

Ashworth welcomed the challenge, saying, “He’s an outstanding coach, and it’s always going to be a tough place to go. We know that team will be well-coached. And we know that Rangers at home is going to be an interesting game for us as well.”

Rangers, meanwhile, will also take on multiple clubs including Lyon, Olympiacos, and Union SG
