Red Devils Play the Long Game in Pursuit of PSG’s £50m Midfield Ace

Manchester United Prepared to Wait for Transfer Business Amid Interest in PSG Midfielder Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has stated that the club is prepared to wait until the final hours of the transfer window to complete any remaining business, including a potential deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils have already spent £150 million on four signings this summer, including Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui. However, they are willing to spend an additional £50 million to secure the services of Uruguay international Ugarte.

Ten Hag is satisfied with his new signings so far and is willing to bide his time until the window closes to make any further additions. “Patience, you guys, wait,” he said. “Be patient, sit, wait, keep working very hard. We will always try to make the best squad possible. We have a couple of days and we will always improve. As long as we have the opportunity we will look for it. When we have news we will bring it.”

Ten Hag is pleased with the club’s progress in the transfer market, stating, “I’m very pleased. They’re showing we’re going in the right direction. We know as a club we have to catch up but it shows our ambition, the way we want to go. We have done good business, very good players, quality players who will add and contribute to our squad.”

United have offloaded several players to make way for the new signings, including Uruguay winger Facundo Pellistri, who has joined Panathinaikos. Ten Hag praised Pellistri, saying, “He’s a very talented player… He progressed very well last year, but we have a lot of competition in wide areas. We look at what we need as a squad but every player needs prospects and in this moment we had many players to compete in these positions.”

Ten Hag added, “We couldn’t give him the right prospects but he has high potential and he needs games to improve and progress. He gets the opportunity at Panathinaikos.”
