The box office crown remains firmly in place for Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, as their blockbuster hit Deadpool & Wolverine takes the top spot for the second week in a row.

The dynamic duo’s film has raked in an impressive $97 million over the weekend, with a total domestic haul of nearly $400 million and a global total of $824 million, making it the most successful R-rated movie of all time domestically, though not adjusted for inflation.

In second place, the tornado-themed action flick Twisters, starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, collected a modest $22.6 million, with global earnings totaling over $374.3 million.

Universal Studios is looking to boost enthusiasm for the thriller with special 4DX showings in select cities across the US for one week, beginning August 30.

M. Knight Shyamalan’s Trap debuted in third place, with Josh Hartnett and Ariel Donoghue starring as a father and daughter who stumble into a dark and sinister event at a concert, earning $15.6 million domestically and $20 million globally.

The animated adventure Despicable Me 4 landed in fourth place, with an adorable crime family forced to go into hiding with their army of minions, earning $11.25 million.

Inside Out 2 remains a strong contender, earning a healthy $6.7 million and rounding out the top five at the US box office, with a global total of over $1.5 billion in ticket sales.

Harold and the Purple Crayon entered the box office race in sixth place, with Zachary Levi starring as the title character in this family-friendly film, earning a disappointing $6 million in ticket sales.

The spooky Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, dropped to seventh place with $4.1 million at the box office.

The faith-based The Firing Squad debuted in eighth place, with Cuba Gooding, Jr, Kevin Sorbo, and James Barrington starring as three Christian men facing execution after being imprisoned in a third-world country, earning $1.6 million.
