Carlo Ancelotti: Nothing Will Change for Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid Despite Kylian Mbappe’s Arrival
Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed concerns that Jude Bellingham’s role at Real Madrid will be affected by the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, insisting that the English midfielder will continue to be a key player for the Spanish giants.
Ancelotti spoke to the media and expressed his confidence in Bellingham’s abilities. “Nothing changes for him,” he said. “He is going to be one of the best players we have, supporting the team with his quality.”
The Italian coach also defended Bellingham’s performances for England at the Euros, saying that he disagreed with those who criticized him. “He played really well at the Euros,” Ancelotti said. “England played really well, they reached the final and were close to winning it.”

Ancelotti also offered some words of wisdom to Chelsea’s new ownership, urging them to be patient with Enzo Maresca. “It’s changed a lot,” he said of Chelsea. “They invested a lot. They have a good squad, good players, young. They have a young manager. They need to be a little bit patient, the owners, to take experience, to grow.”
The Italian coach ruled out a move for Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Chelsea goalkeeper who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid. “In that position, we are covered,” Ancelotti said. “Kepa did really well last season. He was with us. We were really happy to have him here but I don’t know what’s going to happen this season. We love him. We love him.”
Real Madrid face a long and grueling 2024-25 season, which starts with this pre-season trip to the United States and ends with a return to these shores for the Club World Cup next summer. But Ancelotti is not worried, saying that his team is well-equipped to handle the demands of a long campaign.
