Renowned singer-songwriter Beyoncé has ventured into the world of spirits with the launch of SirDavis, a new American whisky created in collaboration with Moët Hennessy and Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden.
The 42-year-old multi-hyphenate has named the whisky after her paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a successful moonshiner based in the American South during the Prohibition era. Hogue would hide bottles of his beverage on trees growing on his farms for loved ones to find.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” Beyoncé stated.

“When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy.
“In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis.”
The whisky pays homage to Beyoncé’s Texas roots with a horse emblem on the bottle and was finished, blended, and bottled in the Lone Star State.
The spirit’s description on their website reads, “Here the complexity of rye is married with the elegance of malted barley. Finished to perfection in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, a harmony of spice with sublime hints of fruit.”
Lumsden explained that with SirDavis, they aimed to challenge the category norms and offer something new in the space, achieving a signature profile completely unique to SirDavis, one of bold sophistication.
The spirit received critical acclaim even before its release, having won Best In Class for American Whiskey from the 2023 SIP Awards after being anonymously submitted to various elite spirits competitions.
Beyonce dropped several sizzling snaps promoting the spirit to her Instagram on Tuesday, featuring photos of her in a lace dress
‘DAVIS IN MY BONES,’ she captioned the post, along with two glass emojis and a shout-out to their website

Beyoncé has ventured into various non-musical endeavors, from fashion to film, and earlier this year she launched a haircare line called Cécred.
Her many business ventures have not stopped her from making music. Beyoncé released her first-ever country album several months ago, Country Carter, which features cameos from Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus.
