Comedian Jared Fried Dreams of Being the Next Bachelor, Despite Self-Doubt
Jared Fried, the popular YouTube personality known for his humorous recaps of The Bachelor, has expressed his desire to become the next Bachelor, despite doubting his chances due to his physical appearance.
Fried made the surprising admission during his recent appearance on the RentFree game show by Bilt Rewards, where he was joined by Bilt’s CEO Ankur Jain. When asked if he would participate in the famed reality series, Fried replied, “I would do it, but I’m too fat to be on The Bachelor. But I do think there’s room for a ‘normal’ Bachelor.”
Fried went on to outline his amusing plan for the first group date, where the women would serve his mom coffee while working at Starbucks. The twist: his mom’s distinctive and quirky coffee order. “Now you might think this is an easy thing, but you’ve never seen my mom order coffee,” Fried joked to Jain. “She’ll walk in and be like ‘I’ll have a tall foamy thing, espresso nut two scoop,’ and she’ll look at them in the face like that’s a normal order.”
Fried’s humorously relatable content has garnered him a massive following, with thousands of views on YouTube. His Rose Rehash series is particularly popular, where he humorously dissects each episode of The Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise.
Meanwhile, Jain has grown Bilt Rewards to a valuation of $1.5 billion since its launch in June 2021, according to his website. The venture is ‘the first loyalty program that allows you to earn points on rent.’
Before founding Bilt, Jain was the CEO and founder of Kairos, a venture studio dedicated to nurturing young entrepreneurs. Under his leadership, Kairos helped its partner companies achieve a combined valuation of over $6.5 billion, addressing challenges ranging from housing to healthcare.
On May 10, 2024, ABC renewed The Bachelor for a twenty-ninth season. The star is yet to be announced.
