Marc Guehi has been named in the starting lineup for Crystal Palace’s Carabao Cup second-round tie against Norwich, despite being on the verge of a £70million move to Newcastle United. Guehi, who captains Palace for the match, has been heavily linked with a switch away from the club this summer, but the deal has yet to be finalised.
Oliver Glasner selected Guehi in his starting XI for the clash with the Championship side, amidst ongoing discussions between Newcastle and Palace. Palace have already rejected four offers from Newcastle this summer for the England international.

Guehi’s involvement for Palace means that he wouldn’t be able to feature in the Carabao Cup for Newcastle this season if he made the move. The England international has been at Palace since 2021, when he joined from Chelsea.
After previously impressing for Palace, Guehi enhanced his reputation further with some superb performances as he helped England to reach the final of Euro 2024.
