Nina Dobrev is taking strides towards recovery. The actress, known for her role in The Vampire Diaries, shared an update on her health during a recent appearance on CBS’ The Talk. It was her first public outing in two months, following a severe dirt biking accident that left her with a fractured knee and a torn ACL.
Dobrev, 35, recounted the incident, explaining that it was her first time dirt biking and it “did not end well.” She described losing control of the bike and, despite avoiding being crushed by it, she landed awkwardly and severely injured her knee.
The actress underwent successful surgery and is now focused on her recovery. She credits her supportive boyfriend, Shaun White, and their pet dogs for helping her through this challenging time. Dobrev shared a heartwarming video of White dancing and wearing a sweatshirt featuring her iconic character, Elena Gilbert, from The Vampire Diaries.
“When you’re confined to your bedroom, you need some live entertainment,” Dobrev said, expressing her gratitude for White’s playful gestures during her recovery.
The couple’s relationship has blossomed since they first sparked dating rumors in 2020. Their romance quickly intensified, and they have been a supportive duo ever since. Dobrev’s injury and recovery process have brought them even closer together.
