NFL Team Backs Away From Streamer After Alleged Inappropriate Behavior With Minor

The San Francisco 49ers have ended their association with video game streamer Dr. Disrespect following recent allegations of inappropriate contact with a minor.

The accusations, which date back to 2017, led to his ban from the Twitch platform in 2020. Dr. Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, admitted to engaging in “mutually inappropriate conversations” but denied any illegal behavior.

In a statement to TMZ Sports, the 49ers organization stated, “We are treating these developments with the utmost seriousness and will not be maintaining any collaboration with him in the future.”

Over the years, Beahm had a notable presence with the 49ers, including announcing their third-round draft pick in 2022, where they selected Tyrion Davis-Price.

The 49ers once invited the streamer, real name Guy Beahm, to training camp - suiting him up

The 49ers previously invited Beahm to their training camp, even suiting him up in full gear.

Additionally, the 49ers had invited Beahm to Levi’s Stadium, where he was outfitted in full gear and allowed on the field.

On June 25, Dr. Disrespect released a statement via his Twitter account, acknowledging the existence of “Twitch whisper messages with an individual minor” in 2017 but denying any malicious intent. He emphasized that nothing illegal occurred and that he never met the individual in person.

Beahm also addressed the arbitration process with Twitch, stating that it was a civil dispute that was resolved through a settlement. He denied being involved in any criminal case or facing criminal charges.

The 49ers once had the streamer read off their third-round selection at the 2022 NFL Draft

The 49ers previously involved Dr. Disrespect in their 2022 NFL Draft, having him read their third-round selection.

He concluded his statement by taking responsibility for his actions, apologizing to his team and community, and acknowledging the discomfort his actions may have caused.

The 49ers’ decision to distance themselves from Dr. Disrespect reflects their commitment to addressing these allegations with seriousness and taking appropriate action.
