Travis Kelce in Talks with Adam Sandler About Happy Gilmore 2 Role
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been speaking with Adam Sandler on a weekly basis about his involvement in the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 movie, according to reports.
Kelce, who expressed his interest in the project earlier this year, has now secured his first major Hollywood gig after setting his sights on becoming a star name beyond football.
While it’s unclear which part he’ll play, Kelce has already begun discussing his role with Sandler, who confirmed the news last week. Filming is set to begin in the coming weeks, and Kelce is already sounding out Sandler about his role in the movie.
According to sources, Kelce has been in weekly contact with Sandler since they went for dinner together to discuss the project earlier this month. The two have struck up a strong relationship, with Kelce seeking guidance from the acting icon.
Kelce is said to be “excited” about starring in the sequel and taking the opportunity “very seriously” as he ventures into Hollywood for the very first time.
Sandler played a fictional hockey player turned golf star with a short temper in the original Happy Gilmore movie. Kelce hopes his role in the sequel will provide the springboard for more opportunities in the movie industry going forward.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Kelce has ambitions to become a household name of similar stature to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with his PR team mapping out a calculated plan to make him a Hollywood star.
Kelce was also pictured wearing a Happy Gilmore cap at Coachella this year when he attended the music festival alongside girlfriend Taylor Swift.
It’s clear that Kelce is taking his Hollywood aspirations seriously, and his role in Happy Gilmore 2 could be just the start of a successful movie career.
