NFL legend Jason Kelce has opened up about a heated altercation he had with his brother Travis, a Kansas City Chiefs star, revealing that their sibling rivalry often boiled over into physical fights during their childhood.
The Philadelphia Eagles icon shared the story on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, “The Big Podcast,” recalling a particularly intense incident that ended in a full-blown fistfight.
The brothers, known for their close bond and popular podcast “New Heights,” would often engage in competitive games of basketball in their backyard, but one game took a violent turn when Jason intentionally fouled Travis to stop him from scoring.
Travis didn’t take the foul lightly, and the situation escalated quickly. “He takes the ball, throws it at me, it goes in the house. I go in there, I grab him by the shoulder and I punch him,” Jason recalled.

Despite their violent past, the brothers have long since made amends and now enjoy a close and supportive relationship. In fact, Jason played a crucial role in convincing the Kansas City Chiefs to draft Travis, despite his troubled past, which included a season-long suspension from the University of Cincinnati team for multiple positive marijuana tests.
The brothers have also been known to engage in good-natured banter on social media, with Jason recently responding to Patrick Mahomes’ trick pass to Travis in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions. “This son of a gun actually did it!! Magic Mahomes,” Jason exclaimed.
He later added, “If Pat starts throwing behind the back passes every time Travis runs the wrong route, this may be the most exciting year of football to date.”
