Former NFL star Bobby McCray has officially filed for divorce from his wife, Khadijah Haqq, over a year after they initially separated.
According to reports, McCray cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, listing their date of separation as July 7, 2023. The retired athlete is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their three children, Christian, 13, Celine, 9, and Kapri, 3.
McCray, 43, is also requesting spousal support from Haqq, while asking the court to terminate her ability to receive spousal support in the future. Haqq has yet to respond to the filing.
Haqq initially announced their separation on Instagram in August 2023, stating that she had been relying on prayer to get through the difficult time. She expressed her gratitude for her support system and emphasized the importance of family.
Haqq and McCray’s 13-year marriage was marked by a strong commitment to keeping their personal life private, particularly for the benefit of their children. However, Haqq did share some insight into their relationship in 2019, revealing that she was initially drawn to McCray’s stature and athletic prowess.
McCray played as an NFL defensive end from 2004 to 2010, playing for teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, and Philadelphia Eagles.
Haqq, a close friend of Khloé Kardashian, rose to fame alongside her twin sister Malika Haqq, starring in the 2005 movie Sky High. Throughout her career, Haqq has maintained a strong sense of family and has been vocal about the importance of coparenting.

As the news of their split continues to unfold, fans are left wondering what the future holds for this high-profile couple.
