NFL Star and POTUS 45 Cross Paths: “The Ultimate Meeting”

Aaron Rodgers shared a photo of himself shaking hands with Donald Trump, following the quarterback’s apparent snub of the former President at UFC 302.

Trump and Rodgers were among the notable figures in attendance at Prudential Center for the lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier.

A viral clip from the event showed Trump walking past Rodgers without acknowledgment, despite the NFL star being a potential political opponent. Rodgers kept a straight face and avoided eye contact with Trump, who smiled in his direction.

Trump, relishing the attention, raised his fist as the crowd chanted profanities against President Joe Biden. Rodgers, seated nearby, appeared to lower his cap and cover his face.

However, on Sunday, Rodgers shared a photo of himself shaking hands with Trump, captioning it as “priceless.”

The two could have been political rivals, as Rodgers considered becoming Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate for the 2024 Presidential election. Ultimately, Rodgers chose to continue his football career, but he maintains a relationship with Kennedy Jr., sharing similar views on vaccines.

Trump received a warm reception at the event, with chants of “USA, USA!” breaking out as he entered the arena. He was also greeted by comedian Theo Von, who shook his hand.

The former President was recently convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush-money payments made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election campaign. Each count carries a maximum sentence of four years, but a custodial sentence is unlikely.

Trump will be sentenced on July 11.
