NFL star Travis Kelce has been dubbed a “nepo boyfriend” after making a surprise appearance in the teaser trailer for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX series, Grotesquerie.
The tight end, who has been dating pop sensation Taylor Swift since last summer, made a brief cameo in the first-look trailer, which features a series of unsettling and disturbing images.
The clip includes scenes of religious crosses, a figure wielding a hammer, a meat grinder, and a swimming pool filled with boiling water, setting the tone for a dark and ominous storyline.
Actress Niecy Nash-Betts, who stars in the horror drama, can be heard saying, “I don’t know how it started. It’s like a hole opened up in the world to the center of nothingness.”
Kelce appears on screen briefly, waving his hands in front of his face, leaving fans wondering about his role in the series.

Fans were quick to label Kelce a “nepo boyfriend” amid his romance with Swift, with one commenting, “First nepo boyfriend,” and another echoing the sentiment, “Ok Nepo boyfriend.”
Another fan joked, “Not him doing side quests in his break,” referring to Kelce’s brief appearance in the trailer.
The 10-episode series, set to premiere in September, follows a detective as they attempt to solve a string of heinous crimes.
Kelce’s role in the series remains a mystery, but he previously opened up about feeling like an “amateur” on set.
“It’s been so much fun,” Kelce told his brother, Jason Kelce, on an episode of the New Heights podcast in May. “I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I haven’t gotten fired yet.”

Kelce described the series as “quite a mystery” and said he didn’t want to “give away too much” about the plot.
“Everybody’s just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable and giving me the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part,” he continued. “I’m just taking it scene-by-scene and making sure I remember my lines … I’m very amateur at this.”
Kelce also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at his time on set with Nash-Betts, saying he’s “blown away” that Murphy gave him such a “big role.”
“He seemed very confident that I’d be able to do this and he injected that [belief] in me the first conversation we had,” the athlete explained. “I can’t thank him enough for this opportunity. I’m sure there’s actors out there that would die for an opportunity to work with Ryan, and I’m getting it in my first gig ever … hopefully I don’t mess it up.”
