John Salley Fires Back at Bronny James Haters: “Shut It!!!”
Former Lakers center John Salley has a message for all the critics of Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James: silence is golden.
Salley came to the defense of the young basketball player and the Los Angeles Lakers’ decision to draft him in June, saying that all the haters are simply jealous of the opportunity.
“People are mad because they didn’t think of it or do it themselves,” Salley stated.
Salley, a four-time NBA champion, explained that if his own father had the same power and influence as LeBron James, he would do the same thing to help his son succeed.
Bronny James, a former high school star and McDonald’s All-American, had a promising start to his college career at USC but faced setbacks, including a cardiac arrest during a preseason workout.
Despite the challenges, the Lakers still drafted Bronny with the 55th overall pick, sparking accusations of nepotism from critics.
Salley believes that those critics should keep quiet, saying that he and everyone else would do the same thing if they were in LeBron James’ shoes.
Salley even went so far as to advise LeBron James to continue playing in the league for a few more years, so he can play with his other son, Bryce.
“Don’t ever quit, bro!” Salley exclaimed.
