Alexander Kardalian, 52, was detained by the singer’s security team on Thursday evening after he showed up at her home with a teddy bear, despite a restraining order against him. This incident comes just months after a similar occurrence in January, where Kardalian was arrested for arriving at Cyrus’ home with a stuffed animal.
Cyrus’ security team, recognizing Kardalian from previous encounters, promptly detained him upon his arrival at approximately 8:30 p.m. and notified the authorities. Fortunately, Kardalian did not manage to get close to the main residence, and Cyrus was not at home during the incident.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management unit is now investigating the case. Kardalian has been booked for misdemeanor violation of a court order and is currently in police custody.

This is not the first time Cyrus has dealt with Kardalian. In September 2023, she was granted a court-ordered protection against him, just days after his release from prison. According to TMZ, Kardalian has a history of sending Cyrus unwanted letters, detailing his obsessions with her that date back to 2018. He has also made requests for money and inappropriate sexual comments.
Cyrus’ legal filing in 2023 revealed that Kardalian’s behavior became more concerning in the summer of 2022 when he showed up uninvited at her Los Angeles residence on two separate occasions. He was arrested in December 2022 and spent time in San Quentin State Prison until his release in August 2023.
Cyrus’ security team promptly detained Kardalian and notified the police. He was arrested for violating a court order.
Kardalian’s behavior has caused Cyrus concern for her safety and the well-being of her loved ones, including her mother, Tish, and boyfriend, Maxx Morando. In her legal filings, Cyrus stated that Kardalian has exhibited “severe mental health challenges” and a “dangerous fixation and/or obsession” with her.
