Meghan Trainor’s journey to becoming a mother for the second time was filled with unexpected challenges and frightening moments.
The singer, who returned to work just one week after undergoing a C-section to deliver her second child, revealed that she initially feared she had miscarried early in her pregnancy.
In a recent interview, the Grammy Award-winning artist shared her experience for the first time, describing the rollercoaster of emotions she went through.
Trainor recalled experiencing what she thought was her period while performing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” However, a month later, she took a pregnancy test, which came out positive.

The singer explained that she had received a Covid vaccine and was feeling unwell, but attributed it to a reaction from the shot. It was only later that she realized she had been pregnant during her performance.
“I performed on Fallon… I did a TikTok like, ‘Ugh, when you get your period during sound check,’ but it turns out, in fact, I was conceiving a child,” Trainor shared.
She clarified that the conception did not occur at the studio and that she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, did not have sex there. However, the hitmaker experienced flu-like symptoms a week after her performance and discovered she was pregnant.
Trainor described the moment she took a pregnancy test, saying, “I took a pregnancy test, and it lit up so fast. I was so pregnant.”
The singer recalled feeling overjoyed and beaming with happiness. However, later that day, she experienced a frightening turn of events.
“Right before my last interview, I look down, and I am gushing blood,” Trainor revealed. She described the bleeding as so heavy that she “ruined a chair.”

Despite the heavy bleeding, Trainor powered through her interview with Ryan Seacrest, putting on a brave face and telling him she was “thriving.”
After the interview, she confided in her team, sharing her fears that she was miscarrying. Trainor recalled thinking to herself, “I had a baby this morning, and now, they’re gone.”
However, she remained hopeful and continued to take pregnancy tests, which still came out positive. Even a blood test confirmed her pregnancy, with a number of 90,000, leading her to believe she was carrying twins.
When Trainor went in for her six-week scan, she received surprising news. The doctor revealed that she was actually 10 weeks pregnant, not six.
Despite the initial challenges, Trainor went on to have a successful pregnancy and welcomed her second son, Barry Bruce Trainor, on July 1, 2023.

Reflecting on the experience, Trainor said, “And I was like, ‘I’ve been pregnant this whole time?’ What a nightmare that was.”
Thankfully, Barry Bruce Trainor was born safely on July 1, 2023. Trainor described her son as “incredible and amazing,” expressing her awe and gratitude for his presence.
“He is incredible and amazing, and every time I look at him, I’m like, ‘How are you here?’ you know. ‘What a little miracle you are and what a nightmare you were in the beginning,'”
Trainor and Sabara are also proud parents to their first son, Riley, who is three years old.
