Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell shared an emotional tribute to his former teammate, the late Larry Allen. Allen, a Hall of Fame lineman, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday while vacationing in Mexico. He was only 52 years old.
Campbell, who played alongside Allen for three seasons, expressed his deepest condolences to Allen’s family and fondly remembered his time with him. “Larry was a dear teammate of mine for three years in Dallas,” Campbell reminisced. “My heart goes out to his family during this difficult time.”

Allen then moved on to play for the San Francisco 49ers for two years, while Campbell had brief stints with the Lions and Saints before transitioning into coaching.
Allen’s career was nothing short of legendary. In his second year in the NFL, he won the Super Bowl with the Cowboys in 1995. Throughout his career, he made six first-team and one second-team All-Pro selections. He was also selected for the Pro Bowl 11 times and was honored with a place in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor.
