Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has turned heads at the team’s offseason practices this week, revealing a noticeable weight loss since the end of last season.
Already renowned for his dynamic dual-threat abilities, Jackson has taken his physical transformation a step further, shedding around 25 pounds since 2022.
The former NFL MVP, known for his elusiveness and speed, shared earlier this month that he weighed in at 205 pounds, a significant drop from his previous playing weight of 230 pounds.

When asked about his weight loss, Jackson replied, “I don’t really know how many pounds I lost. I’m like two-something [hundred pounds] right now. But I just wanted to be able to move around a little bit extra.”
The decision to bulk up during the 2021 season was made to increase Jackson’s strength and durability, especially after he suffered a career-high 38 sacks that year. However, this extra weight may have contributed to a slight decline in his overall speed.
In his first three seasons, Jackson recorded nine runs at speeds of 20 miles per hour or faster. In contrast, he has only managed one such run in his last three seasons.
By shedding the extra weight, Jackson aims to regain some of that lost agility and quickness that made him such a dangerous playmaker.
Despite a stellar 2022 season that saw him win his second MVP award, Jackson and the Ravens fell short of their Super Bowl aspirations, losing to the eventual champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the AFC Championship Game.
That defeat still lingers in the Ravens’ locker room, fueling Jackson and his teammates to come back stronger and more determined than ever.
