Kicker Brandon McManus has been released by the Washington Commanders following allegations of inappropriate behavior by two female flight attendants. The women have filed a lawsuit against McManus, claiming he sexually assaulted them during a trans-Atlantic flight to London with the Jacksonville Jaguars. They seek over $1 million in damages. McManus’ lawyer has denied the allegations, stating that they are “absolutely false” and that they will “aggressively defend” McManus’ name and reputation.
Brandon McManus signed a one-year deal with the Commanders in March
Two female flight attendants accused McManus of inappropriate behavior during the flight.
According to the lawsuit, McManus allegedly tried to kiss one of the attendants and physically rubbed up against both of them while they were working. When confronted, McManus reportedly ‘smirked and walked away’. The Jaguars have also been implicated in the lawsuit for failing to provide a safe environment for staff on the flight.
McManus’ lawyer is committed to clearing his name.
The women are being represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, who also represented several of Deshaun Watson’s sexual misconduct accusers. Buzbee stated that they attempted to settle the matter with McManus out of court but were unsuccessful. McManus had signed a one-year deal with Washington in March after playing for the Jaguars last season. Both the Commanders and the Jaguars have stated that they are looking into the situation.
