Real Housewives of New York City alum Kelly Bensimon has called off her engagement to Scott Litner, just four days ahead of their planned nuptials. A representative for Bensimon confirmed the news to Us Weekly on June 25th, stating that she is “taking a moment to herself” before elaborating on the breakup, with her primary focus being on her daughters, Sea and Teddy, from her previous marriage.
“I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding,” Bensimon, 56, stated, requesting privacy during this time.
The couple had intended to exchange vows in an intimate ceremony in Litner’s mother’s backyard in Boston, followed by a larger celebration in the Hamptons.
In the months leading up to the wedding, Bensimon had been actively involved in planning the nuptials, initially aiming for a relaxed approach but later jokingly admitting to People that she might “become a total bridezilla.”
Bensimon and Litner got engaged during a romantic getaway to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, in July 2023. Speaking to Us Weekly about the proposal, Bensimon shared how Litner asked her to take him to her favorite spot in her hometown, where he popped the question. She described the moment as “very real and genuine.”
Following the engagement, Bensimon listed her New York City apartment for rent and moved in with Litner.
