Kathie Lee Gifford is beaming with joy after making a remarkable recovery from her recent hip injury.
The beloved TV personality, 70, shared the exciting news, revealing that she’s officially on the mend after a fractured pelvis and hip replacement surgery.
Gifford recalled the moment she realized she was pain-free, saying, “I was using a walker to get around my Tennessee farm, and I thought, ‘Shouldn’t I be in a lot of pain?’ My doctor told me, ‘Yes, you should. It’s been two weeks.’ So, I went in for another X-ray, and that’s when I got the amazing news.”
The X-ray revealed that her pelvis had healed, and her doctor shared the incredible results with her. “He said, ‘Look at this, Kathie. Do you want to see your X-ray?’ And I said, ‘That’s my X-ray?’ He replied, ‘Yeah. You’re completely healed. You are cured.’ He doesn’t see that very often. He said, ‘You are healed. It is a miracle. And now, you can have one glass of wine if you want.'”
Gifford credits the prayers and well-wishes from family, friends, and fans for her speedy recovery. “I get emotional thinking about the people who have reached out to me and said, ‘Kathie, speedy recovery. We’re praying for a speedy recovery.’ That’s about as speedy as you get. So, if people are out there looking for hope, waiting for their miracles, keep waiting, guys. God hears your prayers and he knows what you’re going through.”
Last month, Gifford opened up about her hip replacement surgery, calling it “one of the most painful situations of my entire life.” She explained that her hips had deteriorated due to her active lifestyle, saying, “I’ve been climbing mountains, I’ve been dancing on all kinds of stages, I’ve been running for airplanes. You wear your body out.”
Gifford also shared the story of how she fell and injured herself while rushing to help a friend who was locked out of her backdoor. “I was running down the stairs here at my home in Tennessee because my friend was locked out of my backdoor and it was 100 degrees outside. I just went too fast in stupid shoes and I went tumbling.”
