Rapper Juvenile Takes On American Airlines Over First-Class Fiasco
Rapper Juvenile is at odds with American Airlines after a heated confrontation with flight attendants who attempted to remove him from his first-class seat and relegate him to coach. The hip-hop star documented the entire ordeal on video, proclaiming “I’m a celebrity” during the dispute.
In the video, Juvenile’s wife can be heard explaining to the flight attendants that they were sitting in their assigned seats. However, the rapper refused to budge, stating “I’m telling you, this is going to have repercussions. I’m not going to let you disrespect me like that. I’m not going to let you choose me out of all the people on the plane and disrespect me.”
The rapper and his wife ultimately exited the flight, with Juvenile still fuming about the experience. He took to social media to express his outrage, sharing a video showcasing his previous first-class flights with American Airlines.
In the video, Juvenile vented his frustration, saying “Forget American Airlines, all the money I’ve spent with you… Forget y’all. I feel played.” The rapper eventually took a different flight with another airline to ensure he made it to his performance in Fort Worth on Wednesday evening.
American Airlines has since apologized for the incident, stating “American Airlines strives to provide a positive experience to every traveler, and we apologize for Juvenile’s recent experience with us. An unplanned change in aircraft type affected his seat assignment, and we regret he wasn’t notified prior to boarding. A member of our team has spoken with Juvenile personally to resolve the situation.”
This isn’t the first time a rapper has had a run-in with an airline this summer. Salt-N-Pepa’s Sandra Denton called out Southwest Airlines in July, claiming she was racially profiled after being kicked off a flight. She has since demanded the airline investigate the incident.
Juvenile’s ordeal serves as a reality check for American Airlines.
