Jennie Garth is mourning the loss of her former 90210 costar, Shannen Doherty, who passed away recently.
The actress, known for her role in What I Like About You, recently opened up about her journey with body image acceptance and shared old photos of herself and Doherty, along with a heartfelt message on Instagram.
Garth began by expressing her grief, stating, “I am still processing the profound sadness I feel over the loss of my dear friend, Shannen. She was one of the strongest people I knew, and I will always remember her for her courage, passion, and determination.”
She continued, “Our bond was genuine and sincere. Despite the public perception, our relationship was built on mutual respect and admiration. She was a loving and generous person, and I will miss her dearly. My heart goes out to her family and her beloved dog, Bowie.”

Doherty, known for her role as Brenda Walsh in the 90s hit show, passed away on Saturday at the age of 53 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Her publicist, Leslie Sloane, confirmed the tragic news, stating, “It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones and her beloved dog, Bowie. The family requests privacy during this difficult time.”

Doherty, who portrayed Brenda Walsh in the beloved 90s series, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
In 2017, she announced that the cancer had returned after achieving remission. Speaking to Good Morning America, she shared, “It’s going to come out in a matter of days or a week that I’m stage four. So my cancer has returned, and that’s why I’m here.”
Last year, Doherty revealed that her cancer had spread to her brain, sharing the news on Instagram along with a photo of herself undergoing radiation therapy.
