Jamie Foxx has finally addressed the health scare that led to his hospitalization in April of 2023, sharing new details about the mysterious medical emergency.
The 56-year-old actor, who was filming the spy comedy “Back in Action” with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta at the time, opened up about his experience during an appearance in Phoenix.
Foxx revealed that it all started with “a bad headache” that led him to ask for Advil. However, he then woke up almost three weeks later with no memory of what had transpired.
The Oscar-winning actor snapped his fingers as he told fans, “I was gone for 20 days,” leaving them gasping in shock. He added that he “doesn’t remember anything” from that time.

Foxx also shared that his sister and daughter took him to see a doctor, who suspected that “something was going on” with his head.
In December 2023, Foxx made his first public appearance since his health scare at the Critics Choice Association’s event, where he revealed that he “saw the tunnel but not the light” during his near-death experience.
He admitted that he couldn’t walk just six months prior and expressed his newfound respect for life and his art.
Foxx also addressed the baseless conspiracy theories that spread during his hospitalization and recovery, jokingly stating, “I’m not a clone.”

Foxx’s recovery has been a gradual process, and he has expressed gratitude for the support of his family and friends. He has also resumed work on both “Beat Shazam” and “Back in Action,” where he stars alongside Diaz as retired CIA spies.
In April, Foxx shared that he plans to reveal more details about his health scare in an upcoming comedy special. His daughter, Corrine, who stars with him on “Beat Shazam,” has also shared that he is doing “amazing” and has taken up a new hobby: pickleball.
