Jamaican Sprinter Expresses Relief as Citizens Outrun Gunners for Top-Flight Crown, Despite His United Allegiance

Manchester City’s Premier League triumph over Arsenal was a relief for Usain Bolt, who is a Manchester United fan. The title race went down to the wire, with Pep Guardiola’s side finishing two points ahead of Arsenal and nine points clear of Liverpool. While Bolt didn’t want any of the three teams to win, he found solace in City’s victory as he couldn’t bear the prospect of Arsenal fans’ bragging rights.

When asked about United’s eighth-place finish, Bolt acknowledged their qualification for Europe but expressed his preference for City’s victory over Arsenal. The Olympic legend shared his experience with talkative Arsenal fans and his reluctance to see them win the title. Bolt will be taking part in Soccer Aid, representing World XI against England on Sunday.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist confessed that he would rather see Manchester City lift the trophy than Arsenal, despite his allegiance to Manchester United. When asked about his preference, Bolt replied, “Man City, easy.”

He further elaborated his choice by stating, “I know a lot of Arsenal fans, and when they’re top of the table, they talk so much. I’m like, ‘You haven’t won yet!'”

The tension was high as the title race went down to the wire, and Bolt couldn’t bear the thought of Arsenal fans’ potential gloating if they had won. “Imagine if they actually won? Oh my God, it would be over,” he exclaimed.

Bolt’s relief was evident as he shared his preference for dealing with Manchester City’s success over Arsenal’s. “I’d rather Man City win than Arsenal because I couldn’t deal with it,” he admitted.

Additionally, Bolt expressed his desire to avoid seeing Liverpool tied with Manchester United in terms of Premier League titles. “We can’t have that,” he stated.

The rivalry between Manchester United and Arsenal fans is well-known, and Bolt’s experience with talkative Arsenal supporters seems to have influenced his preference in the title race. Nonetheless, he will be taking to the football pitch himself soon, representing World XI against England at Soccer Aid on Sunday.
